This year marks a monumental milestone for us: our 30th anniversary on 14th November. Looking back over three decades, i feel incredibly privileged. The relationship that i have with most of our clients is respectful, deep, and trustworthy, but also incredibly fun and caring. I recently spent a wonderful weekend with my very first client; seeing her home still looking beautiful in our limewash, after thirty years, was a moving reminder of why i love what i do. You can see the house in the images below.
Summer Closure and Studio Updates
To celebrate this journey and focus on my creative goals, the studio will be closed from 1st July until 7th September. During this time, i will be returning to India to complete my book on colour.
Please ensure all paint orders are placed before 30th June or held until we reopen in September.
To balance my artisan work with my writing, i have moved to a new studio schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: Mixing paint at the studio 10 to 5.
- Wednesday: Creative writing course at college and colour consultations. The Studio is closed.
- Friday: Colour consultations. The Studio is closed.
Artisan Life at the Studio
The start of this year brought some personal challenges and a major reshuffle. However, this period of reflection has led to a wonderful shift in attitude. I have rediscovered my deep love for the physical artistry of mixing paint by hand.
I am still joined every day by my lovely Stevie and Hunter the labrador. Stevie has been with us for ten years and is truly the heart of our operations, meticulously hand-painting our colour cards and sample pots. She also crafts all of our recycled packaging boxes. We have found a rhythm that works perfectly; the atmosphere is joyful, efficient, and full of laughter.
Colour Highlights and New Projects
April was a whirlwind of activity. We have been busy mixing a vast array of colours, with Chalk remaining the clear favourite. While off-whites are consistently in demand, we have also seen some incredibly bold accents flying out the door.
We recently provided the palette for Bar Etna, a brand-new restaurant in North London. The owner, Ed McIlroy, already trusted our paint for his home and another project, The Tollington Fish Bar; it has been great fun to work with him again. We created a bespoke vibrant green in a high-gloss finish for the kitchen and a sophisticated deep green for the external woodwork. For the interior, the client selected Earth, Thrift, and Benjamin’s Oxblood. It is rewarding to see our work come to life in these spaces. Below a few pictures of the work in progress.
Thank you for believing in my work and for allowing me the space to pursue these new creative paths. It only makes me more inspired to keep creating the colours you love.

The Colour of the Month
The colour of the month is Chalk, from the 10th Collection, an elegant and fresh off white with a slight pink undertone. Made with yellow and burnt umber. It is perfect every where around the house. Really perfect.
Have a great month, enjoy the light and the sun, till next time
Francesca
