September 2025

September has arrived — a month of in-between days, touched with both
warmth and melancholy. The sun lingers softly, yet the evenings remind us
that autumn is near. After the openness of summer, September feels almost
like a new year, carrying with it a quiet invitation to begin again.

It is the time when our homes begin to matter more — when we light candles, pull
close a shawl, and imagine the colours we want around us for the colder months.
This September, I find myself drawn to warm tones that hold the last memory of sun-
warmed earth, while gently grounding us for autumn. Shades with reassuring depth,
bringing both warmth and calm.

From the Original Collection, Marco’s Terracotta remains a timeless classic —
grounding and steady. For those who love the richness of autumn leaves, Arabella’s
Pumpkin adds an instant brightness to a room. For a glowing yellow, consider Yellow

which carries a warm, soothing yellow — like the late afternoon sun. From Poison into

Colour of The Month

Mascarpone from The Sacla Collection in Eco Emulsion — Mascarpone from The Sacla Collection in Limewash for the house of Phoebe Hollond, as seen on House and Gardens Online Issue for August 2025

This month’s colour has to be Mascarpone from Sacla Collection. The colour was created in 2001 as part of a partnership with Sacla – the Italian Sauce Company to celebrate the wonderful colours that Italian foods have to offer. Earthy, creamy, smooth and rich – it is simply the perfect colour for our velvety finishes such as Limewash (pictured above) and of course our Eco Emulsion. Mascarpone is formulated with two different yellow pigments and two forms of umber, so whilst it has the warmth of ochre and burnt umber, it has the pep of the cooler yellow and the calm of raw umber.
