Oct 2023

Another month has passed so quickly, this year is going too fast, it’s almost over!

October Newsletter Header

Autumn is on its way and consequently, all the lovely colours that come with it. Nature always provides the best colour combinations.

It’s a busy time for us, mixing paints from our Collections, but also creating some wonderful bespoke colours. To make and create colours is a joy, a passion, it comes naturally and it is something that we really love doing. All our colours are formulated so they can be reproduced. We recently had a client who wanted to re-order a custom colour which we created for them in 2002. We were able to recreate it without any issues. I’m genuinely impressed by the great service we offer.

Our studio is open Monday to Thursday, 10am to 5pm.  Friday is dedicated to our Colour Consultation Day, which brings us great joy.  We take pride in helping you discover your perfect colours to turn your house into a home. Please get in touch to book an appointment.

COLOURS CREDENTIALS

We are incredibly proud to announce that our Postcard from Barra Collection has been awarded as the Best Paint Collection of the Year from the Homes & Gardens Design Awards.

Award and Paint Postcard

We are delighted to win this award. The collection was inspired by the beautiful untamed landscape of this Outer Hebridean island. These five coordinated colours – Thrift, Traigh, Lichen, Sea Kale & Croft – each draw on elements of the island’s natural world, from its breath-taking sandy beaches to its green rocky hills. Created using the same number of pigments, the colours have a tonal perfection, making them perfect for combining or for use alone.

We had a fun night at the Winners Party at the Hayward Hotel and it was great to meet the winners and runners-up of other categories.

The collection is selling well and has become very popular.

Looking back over the last month, JW5 from the John Waterhouse Collection, Lucia’s Apple Green and Chiara’s Dirty Green from the Original Collection are doing well. The pinks too, including Thrift and Angelico Pink from Poison into Medicine – one of our most popular colours alongside Arabella’s Pumpkin and Ice House Blue.

COLOUR OF THE MONTH

Colour of the month

JW5, is a complex green made with blue, yellow ochre, burnt umber and raw umber. It sits within the John Waterhouse Collection. The John Waterhouse collection came about due to my fondness towards the Lady of Shalott. This is one of my favourite paintings of all, displayed at the Tate Britain, London.

This colour is perfect for studies, gentlemen’s clubs, drawing rooms, and bedrooms. It’s versatility will complement any space.

Colour of the month living room

It is a deep tone, but like all our colours has a great depth and absorbency of light, changing throughout the day.

Hope you like it.

Until next month

Francesca
