December 2023 News

Dec 2023

Welcome December!

The end of another year. Exciting but also that time of the year when we think about what we did, how we did it and how we can do better next year. It is that time when we like to be around family and friends to celebrate together and to exchange our thoughts, happiness and sorrow, too. December can bring a sense of hope and anticipation for what lies ahead. People may set goals or resolutions, fostering a positive outlook for the future.

For some, December can be a hectic month with holiday preparations, shopping, and social obligations. The pressure to meet expectations or finish tasks before the year ends can lead to stress and a sense of busyness. Many people feel a heightened sense of generosity during December, as the holiday season often emphasises giving to others. Acts of kindness, charity, and volunteering can contribute to a positive emotional state.

December is associated with cosiness and celebrating with family and friends at home. For us, it is always a very busy month, and because home has a central place and we want to make sure that it looks good and welcoming, it is that time of the year when we mix paints and colours like crazy. So it will be good to have some time off to chill, eat well and laugh more.

The studio will be closed from Tuesday 19th December and it will reopen at 10:00am on Thursday 4th January. Last paint orders will be processed on Thursday 14th December. Products bought online after Monday 18th December will be processed on Thursday 4th January 2024.

Magazine Credentials

Newsletter Magazine 1

The second issue of Ton Magazine is out and what an issue it is. It is thicker and beautifully photographed and written. Ton is the new interiors magazine from Jermaine Gallacher, Rory Gleeson and Ted Stansfield. Launched in spring 2023, the magazine is dedicated to the disruptors of design: the radical makers and tastemakers; the outsiders; people with a point of view who are doing it their own way. Inclusive not elitist, it is a love letter to the new and diverse voices in interiors; the underground and undiscovered talent; to the spicy, the spiky, the spunky, and the punky. Prepare to be exposed to a very different world of interiors.

Kate Boxer, an artist and friend, had her house painted in our beautiful, eco emulsion colours and has a prominent position in the magazine.

COLOUR OF THE MONTH

 Rudranath Temple

The colour of December is Rudranath Temple from the Himalaya’s Collection.

A festive pink, made with Organic Red, Brown Oxide, Red Oxide and Purple. Rudranath Temple was inspired by a temple that I visited on top of the Himalayas Mountain in India when I was doing an intense yoga course.

It is a warm and strong tone but soft at the same time, a happy but melancholic shade, full of nice contradiction and it can only enrich your home.
It suits many areas of a house, from a dining room, drawing room, bedroom, bathroom, hallway. It pairs beautifully with dark colours like blue, green, yellow and off-white.

Colour of the month 2

We just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for the continuous support that all of you give us every day. It has been a challenging year, many changes, the biggest one is that Camillo has retired after 27 years of working with us. We miss him terribly but with an open heart, we welcome the glorious Wrern, a wonderful multi-talented individual who has brought enthusiasm and fresh blood since joining us on the 16th of May. We will be looking for an extra pair of hands at the beginning of the year. We also have the lovely Stevie, who has been with us for 8 years and she hand paints all our colour charts and A4s.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at Francesca’s Paints. We look forward to seeing you in 2024!
