Eco Emulsion
THE PRODUCT
Francesca’s Eco Emulsion is a water-based, breathable, matt paint for interior walls and ceilings with a chalky, velvety finish. Francesca’s Eco Emulsion is environmentally friendly and free from solvents and all their components. This paint is ideal to cover most wall surfaces around the house because of its low impact on human health and the environment. It has excellent coverage and is perfumed with a citrus fragrance. Francesca’s Eco Emulsion is wipeable and water resistant but it is not scrubbable.
ECO CREDENTIALS
Francesca’s Eco Emulsion breathable water based paint is free from solvent and their components; glycol and microplastic. The VOC of our Eco Emulsion is 0.6g/litre.
It is a water based emulsion paint with an SD value of 0.003 making it completely breathable. Breathability in paint is essential as it allows the passage of moisture, preventing walls from bubbling up. The base of the Eco Emulsion is plastic free.
PREPARATION
Before application, surfaces must be cleared of loose material, grease and oil.
VERY IMPORTANT: OVER UNPAINTED SURFACES THERE IS NO NEED TO MIST COAT THE WALL, APPLY THE ECO EMULSION DIRECTLY ON THE WALL FOLLOWING INFO BELOW. OR MIST COAT USING OUR ECO EMULSION DILUTED WITH 40-50% OF WATER.
Over unpainted internal walls: apply one coat of Eco Fix diluted with 4 parts water to 1 part Eco Fix ONLY if the wall is powdery to the touch.
Over previously painted walls: if the paint is flaking, remove as much old paint as possible by dampening the wall down and scraping it. If the paint is not flaking, lightly sand the wall to allow the paint to grip. Remember that the paint must be applied on a dry surface.
Francesca’s Eco Fix is to be used on cement render, powdery plastered walls, concrete and LIME PLASTER.
APPLICATION
Francesca’s Eco Emulsion can be applied by brush, roller and spray gun. Paint within reach. DON’T OUTLINE FIRST AND FILL IN AFTER, OTHERWISE A LINE WILL SHOW. Leave at least 6 hours before applying second coat. FOR MEDIUM / DARK COLOURS WAIT 24 HOURS TO APPLY SECOND COAT. Do not apply in temperatures below 5C or over 30C. Avoid retouching the final coat.
DILUTION
1st coat: dilute with 25% of water / 2nd coat: dilute with 20% of water (light colours).
1st coat: dilute with 10% of water/ 2nd coat: dilute with 5% of water (medium/dark colours).
COVERAGE
1 litre covers approximately 12 square meters per coat depending on the porosity of surface.
CLEANING
Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing. Wash tools immediately after use in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Do not empty product in to drains or watercourses. Contains NO ADDED LEAD.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Colour variation can occur between batches due to the natural pigments used, therefore, it is recommended that all Francesca’s Eco Emulsion be purchased at the same time. Keep the lid tightly on. Keep out of reach of children. Do not swallow and avoid eye contact. If accidental contact occurs, rinse eyes with copious amounts of water.
WHEN USING MORE THAN ONE TIN COLOUR IN THE SAME ROOM, INTERMIX BEFORE USE.
